Our latest Atrivity release focuses primarily on our new type of game: onboarding. However, this version contains more interesting features and resolves issues detected in previous editions of Atrivity.

Onboarding Games

Onboarding games is a new type of game focused on integrating new employees into a company. It aims to speed up the process of immersing new employees into their positions and increasing their level of motivation through game dynamics. Once a player receives and accepts an invitation to play a game, he or she will receive automated challenges and communications based on a default roadmap that forms part of the game. Knowledge acquisition for a new employee therefore becomes measurable during the onboarding process.

Redesigned game and catalog screen

The Atrivity game screen now features 3 different sections:

  1. Active and upcoming games: featuring game icons, titles and time remaining in the game.
  2. Catalog: showing games available to the user, even if they have not registered to play them.
  3. Finished games: displaying past games the user played in Atrivity.

Invite users to a game

Now you can invite players to a game, even if you set up a communication plan. While applicable to any type of game, this feature is particularly important for onboarding games. Players you invite receive a welcome message upon confirming their enrollment. This feature is very useful, especially when adding players after the first communications are sent to existing players in the game.

Set up new and existing users in a game

When importing multiple players into a game, you always needed to consider users already registered in the system. Carrying out the export process would always update and replace existing data stored in the platform. The new Atrivity release now lets you define how the system acts when it detects existing users. It can either update all data or keep existing data stored in the system.

New automatic challenge and notification scheduling

Besides current features associated with automatic challenges and notifications, you can enter specific dates when players receive them. Onboarding games then start immediately after players access the game for the first time. For other types of games (continuous, long-term) with this option, the program starts right after players start playing the game.

Besides our standard reports, Onboarding games feature a new report called “Game progress” with enrollment progress and general statistics on challenges planned, sent and played during the game. You therefore receive a global view of the onboarding process.

Types of games

Our new version of Atrivity lets you define a type of game when creating a new game. This adds specific parameters to your game. With this feature, you cna choose among the following types of games:

  • Remote: game with a short duration over several days, restrictions, challenges that expire and game dynamics between players where advanced challenges progressively appear in the game
  • Live: game with a 20-40 minute duration, fewer challenges, fewer restrictions and more intense game dynamics
  • Onboarding: new type of game without challenges between players, start dates or end dates
  • Continuous: game typically lasting 1-3 months with automatic challenges versus challenges launched between players requiring very little effort from users

  • Assessment: game with a short duration where participation evaluates knowledge, with non-repeating questions and no challenges occurred between players
  • Permanent: game without a start date or end date
